Pontina Air bus / van / motorhome awning - multifunctional use for various vehicle types
Height-adjustable, free-standing awning with modern air technology in a classic awning design. Multifunctional use for vehicles with a rain gutter height of 180-290 cm. All air hoses are connected to each other and the awning can be set up quickly thanks to the single-point inflation system. Thanks to the height-adjustable system and the dual piping, you can use the Pontina Air not only for your bus, but also for your van or motorhome. If you are standing on uneven ground, the height of the awning can be easily adjusted. The permanent ventilation with rain protection canopy on the front, as well as the side windows with integrated mesh insert and transparent film cover flap, improve comfort by increasing air circulation, which ensures less condensation and a pleasant feel-good climate. The large panoramic windows provide an optimum view of the surroundings and pleasant daylight inside the tent. For more privacy, the individual window elements can optionally be closed only partially or completely opaque. In warm temperatures, the front and side walls can be zipped out in no time at all, allowing the awning to be converted into a sun canopy. The standing height inside the tent is 220 cm.
The hook-in, custom-fit groundsheet (item 525910), which can be added as an option (not included), provides even more comfort.

The water column provides information about the material tightness. To determine the millimetre value, 10 cm of fabric is stretched under a measuring cylinder and the cylinder is filled with water from above. The limit value at which water droplets press through the material is the maximum water column. In Germany, a tent outer material is considered waterproof from 1500 mm.

First of all, we’re very pleased that the awning itself impressed you in terms of quality and design. It’s all the more frustrating that, of all things, the connecting strap has so significantly marred your otherwise positive experience.
The strap is designed to connect the awning to the vehicle and, thanks to the double piping, can be attached to appropriate piping rails or awning profiles. Of course, this connection area in particular must function reliably when the awning is set up correctly and properly tensioned.
The fact that several straps tore away near the seams after just a few days should not have happened. We can therefore fully understand your frustration.
Since the Pontina Air is one of our Berger products, we are taking your comments regarding the design of the connecting channel and the attachment of the straps particularly seriously as important points for further product development.

Zunächst freut uns sehr, dass Dich das Vorzelt selbst hinsichtlich Qualität und Ausführung überzeugen konnte. Umso ärgerlicher ist es, dass ausgerechnet die Verbindungsschleuse Deine ansonsten positive Erfahrung so deutlich beeinträchtigt hat.
Die Schleuse ist dafür vorgesehen, das Vorzelt mit dem Fahrzeug zu verbinden und kann dank des Doppelkeders an entsprechenden Kederschienen oder Markisenprofilen befestigt werden. Gerade dieser Verbindungsbereich muss bei korrektem Aufbau und entsprechender Abspannung natürlich zuverlässig funktionieren.
Dass nach nur wenigen Tagen bereits mehrere Gurte im Bereich der Nähte herausgerissen sind, sollte so nicht passieren. Wir können Deinen Ärger darüber daher sehr gut nachvollziehen.
Da es sich beim Pontina Air um eines unserer Berger-Produkte handelt, nehmen wir insbesondere Deine Hinweise zur Ausführung der Verbindungsschleuse und zur Befestigung der Gurte als wichtige Punkte für die weitere Produktentwicklung mit auf.
