And thanks to solar power, it works entirely without batteries! How long does the deterrent effect last?
The speed at which animals react to the repeller’s disturbance varies. Depending on the species, this can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Not suitable for small animals
Solar-powered ultrasonic animal repellents are not suitable for very small animals such as mice and rats. These often move out of sight and are only detected by the motion sensor at close range.

Birds cannot perceive ultrasound
Birds cannot hear ultrasound at all and are not disturbed by it. To deter birds, do not operate the Ultrasonic Animal Repeller PRO in acoustic mode.

Can ultrasonic waves be used to repel moles?
No! Ultrasonic waves do not penetrate the ground and are ineffective against moles or voles. If you have a mole or vole infestation, use the Swissinno mole repeller.

What is the best way to position the device?
The sensor must be directed towards the area from which you wish to repel unwanted animals. The range is 12 m from the device, within a 120° beam angle.

Does ultrasound penetrate walls?
No! Ultrasound does not penetrate solid objects such as walls, fences, trees, bushes and garden furniture. You should therefore position the device so that there are as few obstacles as possible.

Keep it away from other noise sources!
The unit should be positioned away from other noise sources, such as busy roads, playgrounds, etc.

What movements can trigger the animal repeller?
Moving shadows, swaying branches or blades of grass can trigger the motion detector and, in some circumstances, cause the repeller to activate unnecessarily or too frequently. If necessary, the sensitivity of the motion sensor can be reduced using the adjustment knob. A green LED indicates when the motion sensor is activated. This allows you to check that the sensor is set correctly.

Is there a habituation effect?
In very rare cases, animals may become accustomed to the repellents. In such cases, using several repellents, occasionally repositioning the devices, or alternating between ultrasonic and acoustic modes may help.

What else can influence its effectiveness?
The Ultrasonic Animal Repeller PRO uses a gentle method. It makes it unpleasant for the animals to remain in the treated area, but does not make it impossible for them to do so. Therefore, circumstances that attract unwanted animals, such as food sources or entry points, should be eliminated. This device also has no effect on animals with impaired hearing. A 100% guarantee of effectiveness cannot be given.

Pets and humans
Do not use the devices in the immediate vicinity of humans or pets such as mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets. Sensitive individuals may be able to hear the ultrasonic waves emitted by the Ultrasonic Animal Repeller Pro and may find them disturbing. This could also affect immediate neighbours or their pets. In case of doubt, this should be clarified and discussed before purchasing and installing the device. The Ultrasonic Animal Repeller PRO has no effect on electronic devices such as pacemakers, garage door openers, remote controls and similar items

How do the solar cells charge the battery?
During the day, the solar cells convert sunlight into electricity and charge the batteries. The Ultrasonic Animal Repeller PRO is therefore only suitable for outdoor use and must be positioned in a sunny spot. Shaded areas, such as under trees or in the shadow of a tall building wall, could result in the batteries not charging sufficiently and a reduced operating time. If the sensor flashes red, this means that there has not been enough sunlight to charge the batteries. You will then need to remove the batteries and charge them as described below.

Further information on the battery
It is best to charge the batteries in a standard battery charger before first use. If the device is not used for a prolonged period (for example, during the winter break), removing the batteries from the device will help preserve them. Recharge them before reinserting them when you put the device back into use. Do not use standard 1.5-volt batteries. This may damage the electronics.

False claims about ultrasound
Claims about the alleged harmfulness of ultrasound or ultrasonic animal repellents are frequently found on internet forums. These claims are false. The power output of the devices is nowhere near sufficient to cause any harm to the health of humans or animals.
