Once installed in the engine compartment, this device will drive martens away from the vehicle through a combination of aggressive ultrasound and high-voltage electric shocks. ultrasound with constantly changing frequency 23 to 27 kHz is emitted via the special speaker in the control unit. This prevents a habituation effect. Martens can hear this ultrasound. It does not harm them, but it is very unpleasant for them and quickly drives them away. Humans cannot hear ultrasound and are not affected by it in any way. Eight stainless steel plates are placed in the engine compartment at the points at risk from marten browsing (pipelines, hoses, pipes, electrical lines and cables).
