Customer Questions
Which tent stake is best for which type of ground?
The right tent stake depends primarily on the ground type. On grass or normal soil, classic tent stakes are a good choice. For sandy or loose ground, longer and wider stakes are better because they have a larger surface area in the ground and therefore hold more securely. On hard, stony, or rocky ground, sturdy rock pegs are particularly practical because they’re easier to drive into the ground and don’t bend as easily. This ensures your tent, awning, or sunshade stands more securely, and you’ll be well-prepared for your campsite.
What’s the best material for tent stakes?
The right material depends on the ground and intended use. Plastic tent stakes are lightweight, rust-resistant, and well-suited for soft to moderately firm ground. Steel tent stakes and rock-ground pegs are particularly sturdy and ideal for hard, stony, or compacted surfaces. Aluminum tent stakes are pleasantly lightweight and therefore practical if you want to save weight while camping. For permanent or heavily loaded guy lines, steel tent stakes are usually the more stable choice.
When should I use specialty stakes instead of standard tent stakes?
Specialized stakes, such as T- or V-shaped stakes, sand stakes, or rock-ground pegs, are useful when standard tent stakes don’t provide enough hold in the ground. In sand, loose soil, or strong winds, longer or wider stakes are helpful. On very hard or rocky ground, rock anchors are the better solution. For awnings, canopies, and sunshades, it’s especially important to ensure a stable hold, as these structures often place more tension on the anchor points.
How do I properly secure my tent with tent stakes?
Make sure the tent stakes are firmly anchored in the ground and are suitable for the specific type of ground. The guy lines should be taut without putting too much strain on the fabric. In windy conditions, it’s important to use all designated guy points and distribute the force evenly. This keeps your tent stable, ensures the guy lines hold better, and protects the tent fabric, seams, and poles at the same time.

"The best decision when it comes to sandy soil. I can only recommend it" "Die beste Entscheidung wenn es um Sandboden geht . Kann ich nur empfehlen "
"The product itself is very good, unfortunately it is shipped with unnecessary packaging. A paper band would be enough, therefore only four stars." "Das Produkt an sich ist sehr gut, leider wird es mit unnötig viel Verpackung verschickt. Es würde eine Papierbanderole reichen, daher nur vier Sterne."

"Good product, but the pegs are quite long. Something shorter would have done it. They would then be easier to stow and would have the same function." "Gutes Produkt, die Heringe sind aber ziemlich lang. Etwas kürzere hätten es auch getan. Sie wären dann leichter zu verstauen und hätten die gleiche Funktion."
