„The weight is definitely not negligible, as the cool box already weighs a considerable amount without the contents. We usually carried the cooler with two people when it was loaded, as this was much more comfortable and the weight is already quite high for one person.
The Berger MCX35 fits perfectly in the trunk of a mid-range car, but it fills the trunk quite well and leaves no room for other larger items. If the trunk is already full, the cool box can easily be placed on the back seat.“

„We use the Berger MCX35 with a volume of 35 liters. This cool box offers us more than enough space to store food and drinks for up to four people. A six-pack of 1.5-liter water bottles fits in easily and there is still enough space for other items. The amount of space is really excellent!“

„The cooling performance of the Berger MCX35 cool box is truly impressive. At an ambient temperature of 20°C and without contents, the cool box reached a temperature of 6°C within around 20 minutes when connected to 230V domestic power, which corresponds to a typical refrigerator temperature. The maximum cooling capacity of -18°C (measured) was reached by the Berger MCX35 after around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
When used in the car at higher outside temperatures, the cool box needed an estimated 30-40 minutes to reach the desired 6°C. Unfortunately, we were unable to record the exact time.
However, it is worth noting that in our test, the cool box's temperature display showed a lower temperature much earlier than the thermometer. The actual temperature was reached about 4 minutes later on the thermometer.“

„Due to its heavy weight and the fact that the cooler's compressor is located on one side, carrying it is somewhat awkward. As soon as the cooler is full, it can only be carried alone to a very limited extent. However, the structured handles, which make it safe and non-slip to carry, are a positive feature.“

First of all, we’re glad to hear that you’re satisfied with the cooler itself. We’re all the more sorry, then, that the operating noise is so significantly detracting from your otherwise positive impression.
The MCX 35 is a compressor-based cooler that produces operating noise during active cooling phases. Once the set temperature is reached, the compressor shuts off and restarts when cooling is needed again.
We can well understand that a noise level of 81 dB, as measured by you, compared to the value of 54 dB specified in the product description, is initially a source of considerable disappointment.
However, when evaluating noise levels, the measurement conditions also play an important role. In particular, the distance from the unit, the surrounding environment, and the current operating state can influence the measurement result. For this reason, different measurement values cannot always be directly compared with one another.
Regardless, when used properly, the cooler should, of course, operate within the specified noise parameters. If the operating noise level does indeed deviate significantly from the specified values, we recommend that you have this checked as part of a warranty claim, along with your proof of purchase.

Es freut uns zunächst, dass Du mit der Kühlbox an sich zufrieden bist. Umso mehr bedauern wir, dass die Betriebslautstärke Deinen ansonsten positiven Eindruck so deutlich beeinträchtigt.
Bei der MCX 35 handelt es sich um eine Kompressor-Kühlbox, bei der während der aktiven Kühlphasen Betriebsgeräusche entstehen. Sobald die eingestellte Temperatur erreicht ist, schaltet der Kompressor ab und startet bei erneutem Kühlbedarf wieder.
Wir können gut nachvollziehen, dass eine von Dir gemessene Lautstärke von 81 dB gegenüber dem in der Produktbeschreibung angegebenen Wert von 54 dB zunächst für erhebliche Enttäuschung sorgt.
Bei der Beurteilung von Geräuschwerten spielen allerdings auch die Messbedingungen eine wichtige Rolle. Insbesondere der Abstand zum Gerät, die Umgebung und der jeweilige Betriebszustand können das Messergebnis beeinflussen. Deshalb lassen sich unterschiedliche Messwerte nicht immer unmittelbar miteinander vergleichen.
Unabhängig davon sollte die Kühlbox bei ordnungsgemäßer Verwendung natürlich innerhalb der vorgesehenen Geräuscheigenschaften arbeiten. Sollte die Betriebslautstärke tatsächlich erheblich von den angegebenen Werten abweichen, empfehlen wir Dir, dies mit Deinem Kaufnachweis im Rahmen einer Reklamation prüfen zu lassen.
