These 2-way screw valves, such as the Boston valves on Sevylor inflatable boats, prevent air from escaping once the air pump is removed. To deflate, simply open the entire valve; to fill the air chamber, open just the upper valve cover. Lightweight inflatable boats typically weigh around 15 kilos, depending on their size, while heavier boats tend to offer greater stability thanks to thicker and more durable rubber construction.
