Product description
Victron current measuring shunt
The Victron shunt is required for current measuring instruments with analogue or digital display instruments, because these are usually realized by measuring a very small voltage at a shunt. In the case of Victron shunts 1000A - 6000A this is 50mV. The following applies: the smaller the measuring voltage at the shunts, the smaller the effects on the remaining circuit of the system. With 50mV this provides an excellent value.
The shunt is installed in the line with the current to be measured. The small voltage dropping at this resistor is evaluated with a measuring device such as the Victron battery monitor BMV 700 and values such as the current flow are derived from it and displayed.
