No more odours
A small, high-performance fan (waterproof and resistant to the aggressive components in the air drawn in from the waste tank), developed specifically for and in collaboration with SOG, achieves the following effect

• Switches on automatically when the toilet slide is opened and creates a vacuum in the waste tank
• This creates a draught at the flap opening, which draws in fresh air and also the odours produced during use, channelling them outside
• The intake of air acts as a seal and completely prevents any unpleasant sewage gases from rising out of the tank (odour-free comfort)
• However, after it switches off automatically, ventilation to the outside continues whilst the system remains sealed to the inside

advantagesAs well as putting an end to odour nuisance, active toilet ventilation has the major advantage of working entirely without the use of chemicals.
When the valve is closed, the SOG system’s hose connection to the outside ensures that the decomposition process is accelerated by the deliberate introduction of oxygen into the waste tank. Even standard toilet paper is broken down in no time at all, making the use of special paper unnecessary.

Activated carbon
An important component of the SOG and SOGII is activated carbon.
This consists predominantly of carbon (usually >90%) with a highly porous structure. The pores are interconnected, much like a sponge (open-pored).
Activated carbon is used as an adsorbent in various fields, including chemistry, medicine, water and wastewater treatment, as well as ventilation and air-conditioning technology.

Door variant

Toilet odours are filtered out via a carbon filter mat, which is fitted to the outside of the service hatch using a filter housing.


Roof-mounted version
With a special roof outlet, we offer the option of venting the SOG systems via the roof. The waste tank is connected to the roof outlet via a pipe. The high-performance fan is situated directly beneath the roof outlet and ensures sufficient negative pressure even with a pipe run of up to three metres. The gas-tight sanitary hose, available from motorhome accessory suppliers, has proven its worth as it is the easiest to install when retrofitting a roof vent. The parts supplied are designed to fit a waste water pipe system available from specialist camping retailers (this also applies to the SOGII).
The roof vent is maintenance-free, as no filter is required.
Retrofitting can be quite complex in some cases, which is why it is primarily used by manufacturers as original equipment.

Type B
For all models in the Thetford C200 series

The SOG system is vented through the roof using a special roof vent. The parts we supply are designed to fit the waste water pipe system available from specialist camping retailers.

Floor-mounted version:
The SOG II compact system offers a wide range of options for ventilating the toilet. The unit consists of a replaceable filter cartridge into which the fan is inserted. As the fan is fitted within the filter’s seal, it is barely audible.

The SOG II offers the advantage that the filter cartridge can be positioned in a wide variety of locations within the campervan and vented via the floor at any point (e.g. in the garage, under the bench seat, in the false floor or in a storage compartment).A hose or pipe extension (up to three metres away from the toilet) can be fitted both upstream of the compact unit and to the floor outlet to find a suitable location.

As the filter unit is housed inside the vehicle, no modifications to the vehicle’s exterior are required – there is no need to match it to the exterior design.

The specific technical design of the filter housing in relation to the flow dynamics, together with the resulting vast filter surface area and the composition of the activated carbon, are so effective that the extracted odour-laden air is completely neutralised.

Therefore, for caravans where the toilet’s service hatch opens directly into the awning, we recommend installing the SOG®II floor-mounted version without hesitation. Emptying the cassette is just as easy as before: the exhaust hose is disconnected and the now-open connector is sealed with the suitable cap supplied.
