Product description

The charger series VAC-F is designed for vehicle installation and meets the requirements of the FNFW in the current fire department standard DIN 14679 for charging auxiliary and starter batteries in emergency vehicles.

Details
  • Charging programs no. 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 (start, gel, AGM, acid) adjustable to battery type
  • Excellent charging technology
  • Fully automatic continuous operation for constant readiness of the batteries
  • Charging voltages are free of peaks and regulated to eliminate overcharging
  • Trouble-free operation and co-powering of devices connected to the vehicle electrical system
  • Built-in charging current distributor with 2 main charging outputs, both with max. current and power capacity
  • Charging current distributor output "2" can optionally be switched to its own charging program for the starter battery
  • Starter battery is also charged with full charging current if required (short vehicle standing time)
  • Signal output (MA) +86 for engine start inhibit in case of vehicle mains connection
  • Visual and audible warning of battery and operating faults
  • Precise battery temperature compensation, temperature sensors included in delivery
  • Automatic battery regeneration during long idle periods (twice a week)
  • Compensation of voltage losses on the charging cables for exact compliance with charging voltages
  • Disconnection of the batteries in case of mains failure, overheating, malfunction (safety switch per charge output)
  • Power supply function allows consumers to continue operation and data retention e.g. when changing batteries
  • Manual charge start in case of deep discharged battery according to DIN 14679
  • Variable installation position
  • Electronics protected against moisture
  • Intelligent microprocessor control takes into account simultaneous supply of consumers to the battery
  • Mains/charging power can be reduced in case of low power or limited mains supply (power limit function)
Charging programs
  • 5 "MOTOR": Charging program for lead-acid/wet batteries, characteristic IU1oU2oU3: Characteristic similar to alternator/generator for moving (mobile) use (acid stratification) with particularly low maintenance (battery gassing, water consumption). Charging and charge maintenance of starter batteries in emergency vehicles, according to a conventional proposal of the Fire Service Standards Committee (FNFW). For conventional standard starter batteries, starter batteries "Absolutely maintenance-free", "Maintenance-free according to EN", "Maintenance-free according to DIN", "Maintenance-free", "Low maintenance".
  • 6 "L": Closed acid/wet batteries with water consumption: L = low according to DIN EN 50342-1, characteristic curve IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic with medium U1 level for acid batteries in vehicle-mounted or external chargers with a fixed location.
  • 7 "VL": Closed acid/wet batteries with water consumption: VL = very low according to DIN EN 50342-1, characteristic IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic curve with high U1 level for acid batteries in vehicle built-in or external chargers with fixed location.
  • 8 "Non-woven": Sealed batteries (VRLA) with AGM/non-woven technology: characteristic IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic for AGM batteries in vehicle-mounted or external chargers with fixed location.
  • 9 "Gel": Sealed batteries (VRLA) with gel technology: characteristic IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic curve for gel batteries in vehicle-mounted or external chargers with fixed location

Note

Please note: since our deliveries may contain batteries (single-use and rechargeable),
according to the German Law on Batteries (BattG) we must advise you of the following:

single-use and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of along with domestic waste, but rather you are legally required to return used batteries. Used batteries may contain damaging substances which, if not stored or disposed of appropriately, may damage the environment or your health. Batteries may, however, also contain important raw materials, such as, for example, iron, zion, magnesium or nickel, which can be recycled. Once used, you may either send the batteries back to us, or return them in
your vicinity (e.g. at the shop, communal recycling points or at our expedition warehouse) - free of charge. When returning used batteries to points of sale, the quantity you are allowed to return is limited to the quantity typical for a single end user, and to those batteries which the seller offers or used to offer in their product range.

The symbol with a rubbish bin crossed out means that you must not dispose of single-use and rechargeable batteries
along with the domestic waste. Underneath this symbol you will also find the following symbols which have the following
meanings:
Pb: battery contains lead
Cd: battery contains cadmium
Hg: battery contains mercury
