Inflatable awnings

Inflatable tents can be set up in minutes using just an air pump. Only one person needed. Lugging heavy poles is a thing of the past.

Inflatable awnings

Inflatable awning: quick, light & robust

Tired of the hassle of setting up your awning with conventional poles? Then an inflatable awning is the right choice for campers.
Inflatable driveaway awnings are now available for all types of vehicles. There are now inflatable awnings for caravans, but also for motorhomes in different heights and sizes. For owners of camping buses whose new bus awning is to be inflatable, there are numerous models with a small pack size and low weight to choose from.
The air awning can be set up in a fraction of the time and can even be erected on its own.

Advantages of inflatable awnings

  • Weight: The (inflatable) versions are significantly lighter than the models with poles.
  • Time saving: The inflatable awning can be set up much faster than a conventional tent
  • Set-up: What's more, if in doubt, you can set up an inflatable awnings on your own because all you need is a pump - pole chaos is a thing of the past.
  • Robust: Even though it is an awning filled with air, the models are still storm-proof and extremely robust.

How does the inflatable awning work?

Firstly, you should park your caravan on level ground. Then there's absolutely no need to sort out the poles, as is the case with conventional tents. Simply set up your inflatable awning as follows:

  1. Spread out the tent carpet
  2. Roll out the inflatabel tent and check for damage
  3. Open the valves on the air tube awning
  4. Connect the air pump and inflate the tent
  5. Erect the caravan awning by hand if there is some air in the tent
  6. Continue pumping until the desired pressure is reached
  7. Tension the tent as usual

What do I need to consider when buying an awning?

An important factor is, of course, the size of the tent. The smallest models have a depth of around 2.5 metres and a length of 3 metres. If you are only going on holiday with one or two people in your motorhome, this size is definitely sufficient. You have space for a small seating area and your (dirty) hiking gear in the 7 square metres.
The largest tents are more than 7 metres long. This gives you significantly more space, which is a particular advantage in spring or autumn, when it can still be rainy. However, these touring awnings can only be used with a correspondingly long caravan. For a smaller camper van, you will need a bus awning with significantly smaller dimensions.
