Tests have shown that 30 percent of the cold escapes through the lid and another 30 percent through the bottom. That's why Coleman has increased the insulation in the lid and base and reduced it in the body accordingly. This allows the outer dimensions to be reduced, but not at the expense of the capacity or cooling performance.

Extensively researched
When a cooler comes into contact with a warm floor, the heat is transferred directly to the cooler. If the box is slightly above the ground, the heat is dissipated through the air (air is a good insulating layer).

Improved efficiency
Tests have shown that 30% of the cooling power is lost through the lid and another 30% through the bottom. Newer models therefore have more insulation in the lid and bottom, but less insulation on the sides. This makes the outside dimensions of the box more compact, but the inside dimensions and capacity remain the same.

Optimized shape
Extensive research has shown that the spherical shape is the best shape for high cooling performance. Since a round shape is poorly suited for coolers, the corners have been flattened to get as close as possible to the round shape and optimize cooling performance accordingly.

The Xtreme line of coolers can keep ice frozen for up to five days thanks to full foam insulation. In addition, they have swing handles (Wheeled Cooler model without swing handles, but with telescopic handle for pulling the cooler), integrated can holders and a leak-proof drain.

Many new coolers can now also be used to transport 1.5-liter bottles upright. The bottom of the coolers is completely smooth, making the boxes easier to pack.
