There is serious safety fault with the central locking system in the following vehicles:
Fiat Ducato from 2006
Citroen Jumper from 2006
Peugeot Boxer from 2006
Iveco Daily from 2006
Uncoded radio signals are used to transmit the central locking trigger in these vehicle models.
As a result of this, it is possible to copy the vehicle's radio signal with minimal technical effort. A notebook and software that can be legally purchased online is all that is required to rectify this.
With limited expertise, the signal can be received from a distance of up to 100 m, stored and used to open the vehicle when desired (so-called replay attack).
The alarm system which is operated via the central locking system can also be deactivated.
These vehicles cannot be described as locked. In the event of a break-in, insurance claims are rarely valid since there is no evidence of a break-in.
