Complete Water Hygiene solution consisting of UV unit and filter WM Aquatec

This comprehensive water hygiene solution provides filtration of dirt and contaminants, as well as fully automatic water disinfection using UV-C LEDs. The UV disinfection unit from WM aquatec is the first fully automatic water disinfection unit of its kind, designed specifically for use in motorhomes; it switches on automatically when water is drawn, thereby guaranteeing hygienically impeccable water worldwide!

Unlike previous UV technology, this system does not use gas-discharge lamps, but rather the latest UV-C LED technology. The water to be disinfected is irradiated with short-wavelength UV light in the range of 240–290 nanometres. The genetic information contained in the DNA of the microorganisms absorbs the energy of the UV-C radiation and is thereby destroyed. Viruses and bacteria can be effectively inactivated by UV-C radiation, preventing them from multiplying. This purely physical process enables the water to be sterilised (up to 99.999 per cent) without the use of chemical disinfectants.

Contaminant and Impurity RetentionContaminants and substances affecting taste are retained by adsorption on the activated carbon filter. These include, for example, pesticides, heavy metals and chlorine. At the same time, with a filter fineness of 10 µm (0.01 mm), the filter protects the downstream UV-C LED water disinfection unit from dirt and suspended particles.
