Fuel cells generate electricity, which can be used in the motorhome or caravan to charge a battery. All battery types are compatible. The fuel cell works regardless of the weather, as fuel cells are usually fuelled with hydrogen, methanol, butane or natural gas. Unlike a typical generator, no exhaust fumes or noise are produced, only warm air and water vapour with carbon dioxide. The installation of a fuel cell is possible in almost all motorhomes.
