Thermal Collar
The thermal collar is a bulge located in the neck area of a sleeping bag or mummy sleeping bag and is used to protect the neck from the cold. The thermal collar prevents cold air from entering the inside of the sleeping bag. Thus, in combination with the contoured hood the thermal insulation of the sleeping bag increases in cold outside temperatures.
